The opening theme in this song is based on a Dutch folksong Wilgeboompjes from 1735. However, the theme reminds us more about traditional irish folk music.
The Norwegian band Plumbo made popular music of the tune, achieving great domestic success in 2011 and 2012. The song was awarded the Hit of the Year 2011 prize at the Norwegian Grammy in January 2012.
This excellent arrangement from the pen of Haakon Esplo suits all kind of bands very well.

[NO]Åpningstemaet i Møkkamann er basert på en hollandsk folkemelodi Wilgeboompjes fra 1735 men som i stil minner mest om tradisjonell irsk folkemusikk. Det norske bandet Plumbo har gjort populærmusikk av melodien og oppnådd stor suksess med den i 2011 og 2012. Låta ble kåret til Årets hit 2011 under den årlige Spellemannsprisen i januar 2012.
Dette fleksible arrangementet av Haakon Esplo har tatt godt vare på låtens særegenhet og passer godt til alle type blåsebesetninger.
