The original version for brass band was commissioned by Manger Musikklag for the performance Voice of the Vikings. This wind band version was made in cooperation with The Royal Norwegian Navy Band.

[NO]Vi forbinder en slik tittel med norsk nasjonalromantikk og blant andre Edvard Grieg. I denne norske dansen er tonen «Såg du nokke til kjerringa mi», en tone som også Grieg benyttet i en av sine fire symfoniske danser.

Originalversjonen for brass band ble bestilt av Manger Musikklagi 1997 til showet «Voice of the Vikings». Denne janitsjarversjonen ble til i samarbeid med Kongelige Norske Marines Musikkorps.
