Zephyrs

Zephyrs Thomas C. Duffy

1. Breezes; 2. Bells; 3. Bob.
Written for middle school-level bands but entirely successful with more advanced bands, Zephyrs was written as a depiction of the approach, striking, and lingering effects of Hurricane Bob to the shores of Rhode Island in 1991. Played as a single-movement work, it contains aleatoric elements and effects. It is not an intimidating work and is a great way to introduce students to contemporary techniques without unduly taxing them from a technical standpoint.
