Written for the famous St. Olaf Christmas Concert in 2002, this is a lullaby for the Christ child sung by his mother Mary at the manger. Mary gently rocks the baby Jesus to sleep while singing of this blessed night and this wondrous sight. Accompanied by piano this is a beautiful addition to any Christmas/winter concert. Composée pour le célèbre concert de Noël de Saint Olaf de 2002, cette berceuse est chantée pour l'enfant Jésus par sa mère Marie dans la mangeoire. Marie berce son bébé dans son sommeil, tandis qu'elle chante sur la douce nuit (« blessed night ») et la vision étrange (« wondrous sight »). Cette pièce, dans laquelle le chur est accompagné au piano, s'adapte parfaitement à tout programme pour un concert d'hiver ou de Noël. On peut également ajouter un orchestre à cordes pour en faire la pièce centrale du programme.
