This Concerto pour Cor was composed during the winter 1990/91. It is dedicated to the fine horn player Matthias Berg, who created it with the ad hoc symphonic band of a conductor's seminar at the Trossingen Music Academy (Germany), conducted by his father Hans Walter Berg, the director of the Academy, in august 1991. The version with piano was created by François Cagnon, horn player at the Paris Opera, and the composer, in Paris in 1993. In order to preserve the solo character of the horn, the composer omitted all horns in the band.

Le Concerto pour Cor a été composé pendant l'hiver 1990/1991. Il est dédié à Matthias Berg, corniste talenteux, qui l'a créé en août 1991 avec l'orchestre des Stagiaires de Direction de l'Académie Nationale de Trossingen (Allemagne), sous la direction de son père Hans Walter Berg, Directeur de cette Académie (Bundesakademie für musikalische Jugendbildung). La version pour piano a été donnée par François Cagnon, corniste à l'Opéra de Paris, et l'auteur, à Paris en 1993. Pour réserver au cor sa qualité 'soliste' dans cette oeuvre, aucun autre cor n'intervient dans l'orchestre d'accompagnement.

Het Concerto pour Cor werd tijdens de winter 1990/91 gecomponeerd. Het is opgedragen aan de talentvolle Matthias Berg, die het in augustus 1991 creëerde met een orkest van leerlingdirigenten aan de Nationale Academie van Trossingen (Duitsland), gedirigeerd door zijn vader Hans Walter Berg, directeur van de Bundesakademie für musikalische Jugendbildung. De versie met piano werd gespeeld door François Cagnon, hoornist aan de Parijse Opera, met de componist aan de vleugel, te Parijs in 1993. Om het solistisch karakter van de hoorn te vrijwaren speelt geen enkele hoorn in het begeleidend orkest.
