Pferde und Stiere haben die Landschaft und die Kutlur von Ribatejo (Portugal) stark beeinflusst, und haben zum natürlichen Charakter des Campinos, des Wächters der Ebenen und der Tiere, beigetragen. Es ist ohne Zweifel eines der typischen Bilder von Santarem bei Ribatejo. Der Paso Doble Campinos Scalabitanos' ist eine Ehrung dieser Tradition. Das Stück beginnt mit imponierenden und farbreichen Akkorden die die Stiere darstellen; darauf folgt eine eingängige Melodie. Ein Campino zu Pferde bewacht seine Herde; plötzlich macht sich ein Stier davon, aber der alerte Campino treibt ihn zur Herde zurück. Der Paso Doble wird mit einem portugiesischen Marsch mit Elementen der Stierkampfmusik beendet und so wird Campinos Scalabitanos zur typischen portugiesischen Stierkampfmusik.

Horses and bulls have transformed the landscape and culture of Ribatejo (Portugal) and created the natural character of the Campino, guardian of the flatlands and the animals that roam. It is, no doubt, one of the most typical characteristics of Santarem, Ribatejo. Campinos Scalabitanos is a pasodoble which pays a tribute to this tradition. It starts with impressive and colourful chords suggesting the bulls and then comes a gentle melody with a totally different character. A Campino on horseback watches the cattle and suddenly a bull runs away, but the Campino drives it back to the herd. The paso doble concludes with a Portuguese march with taurine music characteristics turning Campinos Scalabitanos into typical Portuguese bullfighting music.

Les chevaux et les taureaux ont influencé le paysage et la culture de Ribatejo (Portugal) et ils ont fortement contribué au caractère naturel du Campino, gardien des plaines et des animaux. C'est, sans nul doute, l'une des images les plus typiques de Santarém, Ribatejo. Le pasodoble Campinos Scalabitanos est un hommage à cette tradition. Il débute avec des accords impressionnants qui évoquent les taureaux, puis il y a une belle mélodie. Un Campino à cheval garde le troupeau lorsque soudain un taureau s'échappe, mais le Campino alerte le ramène à nouveau. Le paso doble se termine par une marche portugaise avec des éléments de musique taurine, ce qui fait de Campinos Scalabitanos une musique taurine typiquement portugaise.
