Fata Morgana is the name of an attraction in the amusement park 'De Efteling' at Kaatsheuvel (The Netherlands). It is one of the first modern dark rides in the Benelux countries. The visitors make a journey in a boat through an imaginary but recognizable oriental world. In writing the music for 'Fata Morgana' Ruud Bos made exclusively use of original drawings and scale models of the attraction. He wrote a five part piece: the Harem, the Harbour, the Market Place, the Jungle and the Torture Room.

'Fata Morgana' est le nom d'une attraction au parc d'attractions 'De Efteling' à Kaatsheuvel (Pays-Bas). Il s'agit de l'un des premiers « dark rides » (parcours couverts en barque) au Benelux. Dans de petites barques les visiteurs font un voyage à travers un monde oriental imaginaire mais reconnaissable. Pour la composition de cette pièce, Ruud Bos s'est uniquement inspiré des dessins et des maquettes de l'attraction. Il a écrit cinq parties qui représentent chacune une partie de l'attraction.

Fata Morgana is de naam van een attractie in de Efteling te Kaatsheuvel. Het is één van de eerste moderne darkrides uit de Benelux. In kleine boten, maakt men een reis door een denkbeeldige, maar herkenbare Oosterse wereld. Voor het componeren van de muziek voor Fata Morgana maakte Ruud Bos uitsluitend gebruik van tekeningen en maquettes van de attractie. Hij schreef vijf deeltjes: de Harem, de Haven, de Marktplaats, de Jungle en de Folterkamer.
