Reflexions sobre un Territori Rubén Penadés Silvestre
Reflexions sobre un territori (Reflections on a territory) follows the compositional trend of Valencian composers from the last century: Amando Blanquer, Miguel Asins Arbó, Manuel Palau, etc. It has a structure in three movements: Obertura, Passacaglia and Quasi Rondo, in which melodies from Ontinyent (Valencia) are mostly used, though we can also find melodies from Bocairent and Santa Pola. Specifically, Pasacalle número 2 from Bocairent and Fandango número 2 from Ontinyent have been used for the fist movement, the popular song from Santa Pola (Alicante) Les mares són les que ploren (The mothers are the ones who cry); and in the third movement, the version from Ontinyent of Ball de la Veta, the popular songs Parotet, parotet, El farol de la retreta and Carrer Major de la Vila, also from Ontinyent, and again Les mares són les que ploren.
