Pick up the pieces ist ein Instrumental der schottischen Average White Band, die in den siebziger Jahren mehrere Hits mit Funk-, Soul- und Disconummern hatte; der Titel wird während des Stücks einige Male skandiert. In dieser Fassung für Blasorchester sind Quartklänge verarbeitet, die aus dem Anfangsakkord Cm11 abgeleitet sind. Die niederländische Saxophonistin Candy Dulfer hat das Stück 1993 gecovert, wodurch es an Popularität gewann. Seither gilt es zurecht als Funk-Klassiker.

Pick up the Pieces is an instrumental work from 1974 by the Scottish band, Average White Band. They had several hits in the seventies with their funk, soul and disco songs. This piece appeared in the charts several times. In this orchestra version the four voiced harmonies are derived from the first chord Cm11. The Dutch saxophonist, Candy Dulfer covered this number in 1993, causing it to regain popularity and rightly become a Funk Classic.

Pick up the Pieces est un uvre instrumental de 1974 par le groupe Écossais Average White Band qui avait quelques tubes dans les années '70 avec des numéros funk, soul et disco. Le titre est scandé plusieurs fois pendant la pièce. Dans cette version orchestrale, l'accord du début Cm11 est utilisé dans l'arrangement. La saxophoniste Néerlandaise Candy Dulfer en a fait un remake en 1993, ce qui en a fait un classique du funk.
