Rise aims at captivating the audience by a melodic legato theme, then transitioning from an emotional section to a heroic energetic finale that takes the listener to a journey that reaches its culmination in the final measures. This piece was carefully orchestrated to ensure it is playable even by small band formations, offering some interesting challenges to the bands at this level. Rise made it with the three finalists at the 5th International Composition Contest (Emerging Composers Category) organised by the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE), in South Korea.

Rise vise à captiver le public par un thème mélodique en legato, puis à passer d'une section émotionnelle à un final héroïque et énergique qui emmène l'auditeur dans un voyage qui atteint son apogée dans les dernières mesures. Cette pièce a été soigneusement orchestrée pour s'assurer qu'elle puisse être jouée même par de petites formations, ce qui représente un défi intéressant pour les groupes de ce niveau. Rise a fait partie des trois finalistes du 5e concours international de composition (catégorie des compositeurs émergents) organisé par l'Association mondiale des orchestres et ensembles symphoniques (WASBE), en Corée du Sud.

Rise heeft als doel het publiek te boeien met een melodisch legato thema, om vervolgens over te gaan van een emotioneel gedeelte naar een heroïsche energieke finale die de luisteraar meeneemt op een reis die zijn hoogtepunt bereikt in de laatste maten. Dit stuk werd zorgvuldig georkestreerd om ervoor te zorgen dat het zelfs door kleine formaties kan worden gespeeld, wat een aantal interessante uitdagingen biedt voor de bands op dit niveau. Rise haalde het bij de drie finalisten van de 5e International Composition Contest (Emerging Composers Category) georganiseerd door de World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE), in Zuid-Korea.
