Romance op.35,6 for Horn and Piano Reinhold Glière

Opus 35 is a collection of 11 Pieces for Different Instruments and Piano. No.6 is title Romance and is edited by Joseph Anderer. This piece was written for clarinet and piano in original form. This adaptation takes full advantage of the expressive qualities and sonorities available with the horn. The work is in ternary form; the first section contains an opening statement which is explored by restatement at differing pitch centers, the middle section is heard as a rubato cadenza returning to exploration of the main thematic material; the closing section restates the opening to a conclusion on the tonic.
