Masada (Tone Poem) Ralph Hultgren

Masada is an ancient fortress positioned on top of a giant mesa close to the southeast corner of the Dead Sea.
With a program based upon the siege of the Jewish-held mountain fortress, Masada, this is an exciting piece of music from start to flashy finish. With expanded (yet not too exotic) percussion, great, contrasting solo sections, and wonderful use of fast, mixed meter ensemble sections (mixed meter that flows extremely well rather than stilted and forced), this is a wonderful addition for any grade five and above band.
