This rhapsody for solo quintet and band has been composed especially for bands of the honour's division boasting 2 oboes, one cor anglais and 2 bassoons. The classical dance forms played by the quintet dialogue and contrast with the modern styles played by the band. The solo parts can also be played by a saxophone quintet or any wind quintet.

Cette rapsodie pour quintette solo et orchestre a été composée tout spécialement pour les orchestres d'excellence qui possèdent 2 hautbois, un cor anglais et 2 bassons. Les formes de danse classique dans le quintette dialoguent avec des sonorités de styles modernes interprétées par l'orchestre. La partie soliste peut également être jouée par un quintette de saxophones ou un quintette à vents.

Deze raphsodie voor solo quintet en orkest is speciaal gecomponeerd voor een orkest in de uitmuntendheid afdeling dat 2 hobo's, 1 althobo en 2 fagotten rijk is. De klassieke dansvormen in het quintet worden beantwoord door moderne stijlen in het orkest. De solistische bijdrage kan ook gespeelt worden door een saxofoon quintet of blaas quintet.
