'Overture from Tommy' by the British rock band The Who, was the opening number from the 1969 rock opera 'Tommy'. The Overture includes all the thematic material used throughout the opera, and contains excerpts from all the show's hits one after the other. This overture is heard frequently on the radio and is included in the Netherlands top 2000. This arrangement remains very close to the original and includes some challenging lines for the horns.

'Overture from Tommy' du groupe anglais rock The Who était le numéro d'ouverture de l'opéra rock 'Tommy' de 1969. Dans l'ouverture, tout le matériel thématique de l'opéra rock est introduit, des bribes des hits de l'opéra sont enchaînées. Cette ouverture est souvent utilisé à la radio comme jingle, en Hollande notamment pour le Top 2000. Cet arrangement est très proche de l' original et pose notamment pour les cors un vrai défi.

Bij de Overture wordt het thematisch materiaal uit de rock opera geïntroduceerd, flarden van hits uit de rockopera zijn achter elkaar gezet. Deze overture wordt op de radio veel als herkenningstune gebruikt, in Nederland o. a. bij de top 2000. Dit is een arrangement dat zeer dicht bij het origineel is gebleven en waarbij er met name voor de hoorns een uitdaging ligt.
