'We have to make music here the whole day long!' Such was the enthusiastic response of Paul Hindemith when he heard the school orchestra of Plön. 'We start with an aubade blown from the tower, then we play a cantata in the park, table music at lunchtime and in the evening a serenade in the Knights' Hall.' No. 5 of this evening music from the 'Plöner Musiktag' is the 'Trio für Blockflöten'. An edition was published as early as 1932 by Walter Bergmann who adapted the original phrasing and articulation to the customs of recorder playing at that time. This new edition goes back to the original version again, as recently published in the Paul Hindemith Complete Edition. The still common combination of the three recorders S-A-A(or T), however, has been retained unchanged.

"Il nous faut jouer ici une journée entière!", fut la phrase enthousiaste de Paul Hindemith après qu'il eut entendu l'orchestre de l'école de Plön. "Nous commencerons par une aubade, jouée de la tour par une fanfare, puis suivront une cantate dans le parc, une musique de table au déjeuner et un concert nocturne dans la salle des chevaliers." Le n° 5 de l'"Abendkonzert" du 'Plöner Musiktag' est un trio pour flûtes à bec. En 1932, paraissait déjà une édition de Walter Bergmann qui adaptait le phrasé et l'articulation originaux aux habitudes de jeu de l'époque. Cette nouvelle édition retourne à l'original telle qu'il a récemment paru dans l'Edition complète des oeuvres de Paul Hindemith. Elle conserve néanmoins la combinaison encore en usage aujourd'hui des trois flûtes S-A-A (ou T)
