Paul Hindemith erhielt vom neunten Lebensjahr an Musikunterricht und studierte bereits 1909 am Konservatorium in Frankfurt Komposition und Geige.

Hindemith ist dem Amateurmusiker immer mit Sympathie begegnet. Er schrieb beispielsweise einige Werke für Blasorchester. In 1946 schrieb er seine Symphonia Serena, von der Juan Vte. Mas Quiles den Geschwindmarsch von Beethoven für Harmonieorchester arrangierte.

Paul Hindemith received his musical education from his ninth year and in 1909 he began his studies of composition and violin in Frankfurt. At twenty he becane concertmaster of the local opera orchestra. Apart from that he was member of various chambermusic endembles.Hindemith has always been sympathetic towards the amateur-musician. He wrote a couple of works for windband. In 1946 he wrote Symphonia Serena. From this symphony Mr. Juan Vte Mas Quiles arranged the Geschwindmars for windband

Paul Hindemith prit dès láge de 9 ans lecons de musique et dès 1909, il se rendit à Francfort pour étudier la composition et le violin au Consevatoire de Francfort sur le MainHindemith toujours eu une grande esstime cordiale pour le musicien-amateur. Il écrivit par exemple quelques oeuvres pour orchestre composé dínsstruments à vent. In 1946, il composa la Symphonia Serena »que Juan Vte. Ams Quiles arrangea pour en faire le « Geschwindmarsch by Beethoven » destiné à etre par harmonie.
