The concertant duets, previously unpublished, have quite a special standing in Paganini's chamber music works for he mostly chose an accompanying guitar whereas compositions for strings exclusively are rare. The compositions come up to the expectations their titles evoke as both instruments concert with each other and are equally involved in the musical process. The Cello is playing from the playing score, the Violin has a separate part.

Les trois duos concertants, ici publiés pour la première fois, occupent une place en quelque sorte exceptionnelle au soin de la musique de chambre de Paganini. Dans la plupart des cas, Paganini choissisait une instrumentation avec accompagnement de guitare. Les uvres écrites uniquement pour instruments à cordes représentent une part relativement faible. Les duos peuvent bien être dénommé "concertants" car les deux instruments "concertent" l'un avec l'autre et sont mis sur un pied d'égalité.
