In his three hours lasting box-office hit 'Les Uns et les Autres' the French filmmaker Claude Lelouch describes the joys and sorrows, important events and everyday incidents of the lives of a number of people. The film covers a period going from 1936 up to 1980, including the Second World War. Many musical aspects make the soundtrack very important to the film; think of the Paris Music-Hall music, the Glenn Miller music in the States, the pop music and even the ballet music. The fabulous interpretation of Ravel's 'Bolero' is a fantastic climax. The Bolero, however is not included in this selection, as it has been published seperately in a new arrangement for band by Henk van Lijnschooten.

Le film à succès du régisseur français Claude Lelouch , qui dure plus de trois heures, raconte de grands et petits moments, des choses gaies et des choses tristes de la vie d'un certain nombre de gens, durant une longue période allant de 1936 à 1980, qui comprend donc également la deuxième guerre mondiale.De nombreux aspects de la musique du film jouent un röle important , comme par exemple la musique de music-hall à Paris, la musique de Glenn Miller aux USA, la musique pop et la musique de ballet. Le point culminant est l'interprétation magistrale du 'Boléro' de Maurice Ravel. Cette dernière oeuvre ne fait pas partie de notre sélection, mais elle est éditée séparément dans une orchestration de Henk van Lijnschooten.

De ruim drie uur durende succesfilm 'Les Uns et les Autres' van de franse regisseur Claude Lelouch gaat over grote en kleine, trieste en komische momenten uit het leven van een aantal mensen. De film beschrijft de periode van 1936 tot 1980, met inbegrip dus van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.Vele facetten van de muziek spelen een belangrijke rol in de film, zoals o.m. de Music-Hall muziek uit Parijs, de Glenn Miller muziek uit de USA, de popmuziek en , niet te vergeten, de balletmuziek die uitmondt in een fabelachtige vertolking van de 'Bolero' van Ravel.Dit laatste werk komt niet voor in de selectie maar is apartuitgegeven in een instrumentatie van Henk van Lijnschooten.
