Call of Heroes is an opening piece not only suited for concerts but for all festive occasions. The first part begins with a fanfare in the brass supported by woodwind motifs. In the second section the theme is first introduced by the euphonium and horn which transitions into the full orchestra taking it over. The piece ends majestically with a repeat of the opening fanfare.

Call of Heroes est une ouverture très appropriée pour des concerts, mais aussi pour d'autres occasions festives. Le premier mouvement commence avec une fanfare dans laquelle les motifs dans les bois s'ajoutent aux cuivres. Dans le deuxième mouvement l'euphonium et le cor introduisent un thème splendide qui après une transition est repris par tout l'orchestre. La pièce finit majestueusement avec une reprise de la fanfare de l'ouverture.

Call of Heroes is een openingsstuk dat zeer geschikt is voor concerten, maar ook voor andere feestelijke gelegenheden. Het eerste deel begint met een fanfare waarbij de koperblazers worden aangevuld met motieven in de houtblazers. In het tweede deel introduceren het euphonium en de hoorn een prachtig thema dat na een overgang door het volledige orkest overgenomen wordt. Het stuk eindigt majestueus met een herhaling van de openingsfanfare.
