Das vorliegende Werk entstand im Auftrag der Jugendmusik Ostermundigen. Es beschreibt anschaulich Momente aus dem Leben der nordamerikanischen Indianer im 19. Jahrhundert. Man hört die Gesänge eines Medizinmannes, Kampfszenen mit den Bleichgesichtern, aber auch ein romantisches Liebeslied. Der Komponist verwendet mehrmals unübliche Klänge: So werden von den Instrumenten ungewohnte Geräusche verlangt, die Musikerinnen und Musiker werden aufgefordert, zu singen, zu kreischen und zu sprechen.



INDIAN FIRE depicts vivid moments from the life of the North American Indian in the 19th century. In the piece you can hear the chants of a medicine man and fight scenes with the pale faces as well as a romantic love song. The composer uses unusual sounds numerous times throughout the work: unfamiliar sounds are expected from the instruments and the players are even required to sing.
