Chronos is the god of time in Greek mythology. He symbolises the passage of time and also the duration of life. As the guardian of time, he sits on the Porta Vorchheimensis, which opens up the most important stages of Forchheim's history to the viewer in 12 pictures. The main theme of the composition describes Chronos sitting majestically on the gate and watching over time. The second theme describes time itself: with a steady pulse, the sands of time run grain by grain. Just as time cannot be stopped or accelerated, the second part of my work flows continuously. But the impression is deceptive: sometimes time is perceived as short-lived, sometimes as sluggish. And it is precisely this that Chronos, the man above the gate of time, watches over!
