Whilst travelling in Scotland, Marco Pütz had the idea of writing a composition of Scottish folk songs for wind band. Shortly before the flight back, he bought a flute school with monophonic folk songs from all parts of Scotland, which he then harmonised and adapted freely to his taste, added a few passages and finally set the whole thing for wind band. The result is a suite for (youth) wind orchestra that is as melodious as it is pedagogically demanding.
