As a French horn player, the successful German composer Manfred Schneider is familiar with brass instruments, so he took on the challenge of writing at a real Concerto for Trombone and Wind Band, which he called 'Poem a la carte'. The composition was commissioned by the JBK Sonthofen wind band. Though the 'misterioso' introduction already features some virtuoso passages for the soloist, the latter really takes off in the energetic allegro. Then comes a lyrical largo and the work ends with a sparkling allegro allowing the soloist to demonstrate true virtuosity.

Le compositeur allemand en vogue Manfred Schneider, corniste de formation, montre une autre face de son talent avec ce 'Poem a la carte', un véritable concerto pour trombone et orchestre d'harmonie, écrit sur commande de l'orchestre d'harmonie JBK Sonthofen. L'uvre débute par une introduction misterioso avec déjà quelques petits passages virtuoses pour le soliste, puis il y a un allegro énergique, suivi d'un largo fort mélodieux. Pour terminer, il y un allegro qui permet, bien sûr, au soliste de se donner à fond.

De succesvolle Duitse componist Schneider, zelf koperblazer, toont zich nu eens van een heel andere zijde met dit 'Poem a la carte', een onvervalst Concerto voor trombone en harmonieorkest dat op bestelling van de muziekvereniging JBK Sonthofen werd geschreven. Na een misterioso inleiding met reeds virtuoze trekjes voor de solist, volgt een energiek allegro, dat dan weer plaats ruimt voor een melodieus largo. Het werk wordt afgerond met een allegro waarin de solist het beste van zichzelf geeft.
