New edition of this hitherto unpublished 13-minute work, which was first performed in 2002 by the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste. The title clearly suggests a parade; but, as Lindberg points out, in Spanish, 'parada' also denotes a bus-stop or taxi-rank: a wry acknowledgement, perhaps, of the long wait for a slow movement from this composer at that time. For him, Parada is the middle panel of a loosely conceived triptych, the flanking sections of which are Feria (1997) and Cantigas (1999). Lindberg draws a parallel with Debussy's Images, in which each of the three parts was conceived and premièred separately, and retains its own identity.

Une tout nouvelle édition : cette uvre de 13 minutes, jamais publiée, fut interprétée pour la première fois en 2002 par le Philharmonia Orchestra sous la direction de Jukka-Pekka Saraste. Le titre rappelle aisément une parade. Mais comme Lindberg le fait remarquer, « parada » signifie aussi en espagnol « arrêt de bus » ou « station de taxi » ; c'est peut-être une référence ironique, car le compositeur a longtemps attendu ce mouvement. Pour lui, Parada est le deuxième mouvement d'un triptyque lentement mis au point, avec Feria (1997) et Cantigas (1999), les deux autres parties. Lindberg fait ici un parallèle avec les Images de Debussy, dont les trois parties ont elles aussi été composées et interprétées indépendamment les unes des autres, afin de conserver leurs identités propres.
