Vom Modernismus gibt es in dieser 'Partita' aus 1961 nicht so viel zu hören. Mit diesem Werk hat Van Baaren 'Spielmusik à la Hindemith' schreiben wollen. Diese Suite hat ein neo-klassizistischer Charakter, sie ist leicht zu spielen und geht gut ins Ohr. Es gibt eine Intrada als Ouvertüre, eine Bourrée mit einem Thema das auch in Umkehrung erscheint, eine Sarabande und zum Schluß eine hervorragende Gigue.

You will not find much of this modernism in the 'Partita' (1961). With this composition van Baaren clearly wanted to write playful music in the style of Hindemith. The suite has a neo-classical character, is easy to perform and is easy on the ear. The introducing Intrada is followed by a Bourrée the theme of which also appears in reverse. The Sarabande is followed by a extremely well composed Gigue (Jig).

On ne retrouve guère cette modernité dans la 'Partita' de 1961. Avec cette oeuvre, van Baaren a voulu composer de la musique légère dans le style de Hindemith. Cette suite a donc un caractère néo-classique, elle est facile à jouer et agréable à écouter. L'introduction 'Intrada' est suivie d'une 'Bourrée' dont le thème apparaît de façon renversée. Puis la Sarabande est suivie d'une très belle Gigue.

Van de moderniteit is in zijn Partita uit 1961 niet zo veel te horen. Van Baaren heeft met dit werk duidelijk speelmuziek à la Hindemith willen schrijven. Het werk, een suite, heeft dan ook een neo-classicistisch karakter, is goed speelbaar en ligt goed in het gehoor. Op de inleidende Intrada volgt een Bourrée, waarvan het thema op een gegeven moment ook in de omkering verschijnt. Na de Sarabande volgt dan nog een knap gecomponeerde Gigue.
