Appassionata (in the old style') is a homage to Beethoven, taking the theme of the Piano Sonata op 23, no 57, and presents a passionate and dramatic duo of five minutes' duration. It was composed for the cellist Jamal Aliyev, winner of The Arts Club Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award 2017.

Appassionata (« in the old style » - « dans un style ancien ») est un hommage à Beethoven. La pièce utilise le thème de sa Sonate pour piano op. 23, Nr. 57, et présente un duo « passionnément » romantique de cinq minutes. Elle a été composée par le violoncelliste Jamal Aliyev, lauréat du Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award de 2017.
