In Germany and Austria there are many beautiful Christmas carols, some of them such as 'Holy Night, Silent Night' or 'O Tannenbaum' are known and sung all over the world. Josef Hastreiter (1938) arranged some of these German Christmas songs ('Kling Glöckchen', 'Laßt uns Froh und Munter sein', 'Schneeflöckchen', 'Tochter Zion', 'Jingle Bells') in his suite 'Klingende Weihnacht'.

L'Allemagne et l'Autriche connaissent une longue et riche tradition en ce qui concerne les cantiques de Noël. Certains, tels 'Douce Nuit, Sainte Nuit' ou 'Mon Beau Sapin' sont connus dans le monde entier. Josef Hastreiter (1938) a arrangé quelques Noëls des pays germanophones ('Kling Glöckchen', 'Laßt uns Froh und Munter sein', 'Schneeflöckchen', 'Tochter Zion', 'Jingle Bells') dans la suite 'Klingende Weihnacht'.

Duitsland en Oostenrijk bezitten een schat aan mooie kerstliederen waarvan sommige ook wereldberoemd werden, denken we maar aan 'Stille Nacht' en 'O Tannenbaum'. Josef Hastreiter (1938) bewerkte enkele Kerstliederen uit de Duitstalige landen, o.m. 'Stil, Stil, Stil', 'Kling Glöckchen', 'Laßt uns Froh und Munter sein' en 'Schneeflöckchen' en omkaderde deze met Händels 'Tochter Zion' en de internationale evergreen 'Jingle Bells' in de suite 'Klingende Weihnacht'.
