Syntonia Jose Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana
The word sintonia in has been always associated with the world of the radio as that musical fragment that was identifying a program or a chain. Nevertheless, the etymological sense of the term (and of there that the title vay written like transcrition phonetics of the Greek) us refers to a strong tension, or even as Aristotle would say, to a complete tension of the spirit. With these semiologic premises of tension and of complete correlation of ideas, I have wanted to create this score. The thematic materials are based on the first two musical pieces that were listened by the first time in the radio. The Night of Christmas of 1906, Reginald Aubrey Fessenden transmitted from Brant Rock Station (Massachusetts) the first broadcasting of audio of the history. Some ships from deep sea listened to the own Fessenden touching to the violin the song Or Holy Night. Likewise, on August 27, 1920, the Sociedad Radio Argentina, transmitted the opera Parsifal de Richard Wagner, from the Theatre Colon of Buenos Aires. Melodic and harmonic motives of these two works will come together, will be changed and will develop as a species of search between the wireless dials, without losing of sight the humor, the amusement and, since not, the tenderness of the radio, which with only the power of the sound turned into sap of the imagination.
The work is dedicated by all my fondness to the Band of the Societat Musical Alteanense and to his director, the maestro Jimmy Ripoll Martins.
