Rondo Capriccio was commissioned in 1978 by Alpha Lembda Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma National Band Sorority, and Beta Gemma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Band Fraternity, and the Louisiana State University Symphonic Band Alumni Association, Inc. for the Louisiana State University Symphonic Band, Nicholas Rouse, Conductor. It was completed in January of 1979 and premiered by the Louisiana State University Symphonic Band in April of 1979, with the composer, John Zdechlik, conducting.
