[EN]"Sea Song Fantasy" was commissioned by Symphonicity (the Symphony Orchestra of Virginia Beach) and premiered for the opening of their new concert hall in November 2007. The work features a wide variety of sea shanties in various styles, ranging from those well known melodies to more obscure songs of the sea. All are combined into an exciting work featuring virtually every instrument and family in the ensemble.
[DE]"Sea Song Fantasy" wurde von Symphonicity (dem Symphonieorchester von Virginia Beach) in Auftrag gegeben und anlässlich der Eröffnung des neuen Konzertsaals im November 2007 uraufgeführt. Das Werk enthält eine breite Palette von Seemannsliedern in verschiedenen Stilen, von den bekannten Melodien bis hin zu eher unbekannten Liedern des Meeres. Alle werden zu einem spannenden Werk kombiniert, bei dem praktisch alle Instrumente und Instrumentenfamilien des Ensembles zum Einsatz kommen.
