Bunt sind schon die Wälder is a traditional German folk song that celebrates the beauty of autumn. It is also known by the title Herbstlied (Autumn Song).

The lyrics were written in 1782 by Swiss poet Johann Gaudenz von Salis-Seewis under the original title Herbstlied with the subtitle 1782, comprising seven stanzas. They were first published in the Vossischer Musen-Almanach for the year 1786. A later version published in 1793 included five stanzas, with the first two and the final stanza identical to the 1786 edition, while the penultimate stanzas partly overlapped. The melody was composed in 1799 by German composer Johann Friedrich Reichardt.
