Jan Antonin Graf Losy von Losinthal ist heute meist unter dem Namen Johann Anton Logy bekannt. Er lebte von etwa 1650 bis 1721 und gilt als einer der bedeutendsten böhmischen Lautenisten, der sich auf seinen Reisen auch mit dem Wiener und dem Französischen Stil vertraut machte. Seine Kompositionen für Gitarre sind in zahlreichen Tabulaturen erhalten geblieben, neben Tanzsätzen hat er auch Variations- und Charakterstücke für die Barockgitarre in französischer Stimmung komponiert. Die vorliegende Ausgabe wurde für die Ausführung auf der modernen Gitarre bearbeitet, und, wie in der Serie STEP BY STEP üblich, mit ausführlichen spielpraktischen Hinweisen versehen. Die Edition ist damit hervorragend geeignet, in den Stil barocker Aufführungspraxis einzuführen. Begleitend zu den Notenausgaben der Reihe STEP BY STEP ist eine Hör-CD erschienen (ZZM 75006).

Jan Antonin Graf Losy von Losinthal is known under the name of Johann Anton Logy. He lived from around 1650 till 1721 and is considered one of the most important Bohemian lute players who became familiar with both the Viennese and the French style when travelling around. His compositions for the guitar have been preserved in the form of many tablatures. Apart from dance movements, he also composed variations and character pieces for the baroque guitar using the tuning aa-Dd-gg-bb-e', which was quite popular in France. This edition has been rearranged for the modern guitar and annotated (as are all books from the STEP BY STEP series) with detailed information on playing techniques. This makes it an excellent choice for introducing Baroque performance procedure.

Jan Antonin Graf Losy von Losinthal est de nos jours plus connu sous le nom de Johann Anton Logy. Il a vecu d'environ 1650 jusqu'en 1721 et compte parmi les luthistes bohémiens les plus importants. Il s'est familiarisé au cours de ses voyages avec le style des luthistes de la cour de Vienne et celui des maîtres français. Ses compositions pour la guitare nous sont parvenues par de nombreuses tablatures. En dehors de mouvements de danse, il a également composé des variations et des pièces de caractère pour la guitare baroque selon la tradition française. Notre édition a été arrangée pour la guitare moderne et, comme il est de règle dans la série STEP BY STEP, munie d'indications détaillées concernant la technique de jeu. Elle est par conséquent idéale pour l'introduction du style de la pratique d'exécution baroque.
