Figaro-Fantasy

Opera arrangements for four flutes from the 19th century are difficult to find, while there are numerous arrangements for other instrumentations. So why not use a good opera transcription as the basis for a romantic-style fantasy on opera themes? For this edition, we chose one of the eight opera transcriptions op.45 for flute and piano by Joachim Andersen (1847 - 1909). Partly, the interludes have been modified, and the whole work has been shortened; articulation marks have been adapted so far as to conform to the original text; in particular the middle voices have been modified.

L'arrangement d'un arrangement: une paraphrase d'opéra de Joachim Andersen, flûtiste virtuose réputé du 19ème siècle, à l'orgine écrite pour flûte et piano, nous est présentée ici dans une adaptation libre pour quatre flûtes de Heiner Eppel. L'éditeur a été inspiré par le fait que les arrangements d'air d'opéras pour 4 flûtes sont rares en ce qui concerne le 19ème siècle. Il s'agit d'une pièce attrayante pour quatuor de flûtes, captivant les auditeurs par ses mélodies familières. Dû à la célébrité de l'original, la mise au point ne devrait constituer aucune difficulté.
