Der Himalaya Music' Verlag will die Kinder für die Blasmusik begeistern und sie zum spielen anregen. Deswegen hat er eine besondere Reihe, 'Solo mit Jugendorchesterbegleitung' veröffentlicht. Mittels dieser Solowerke lernen die Kinder schon früh wie es sich anfühlt als Solist vor dem Orchester bzw. Publikum zu spielen. 'The Young Artist' fängt mit einer prächtigen Ballade an; der zweite Teil ist sehr heiter. Die Solostimme wird in c, b, es oder f geliefert, damit sie von jedem Instrument gespielt werden kann.

By means of these compositions children learn to play as a soloist in front of an entire band at an early age. The Young Artist' starts with a beautiful ballad that transforms into a cheery and graceful second part. The solo part is supplied in C, Bb, Eb and F transpositions, so the solo can be played on any instrument.
