With 'Dance of the Winds', Hermann Pallhuber presents a vibrant and colorful work for wind orchestra.
Commissioned by the Blasmusikverband Baden-Württemberg e.V. as a test piece for the 2025 competitions, the piece
highlights the expressive potential of wind instruments.
The music unfolds as a multifaceted dance, combining different characters and sound worlds. Structurally, the work
follows a rondo-like form, with rhythmic and memorable ritornellos alternating with contrasting, often more lyrical
and chamber-like couplets.
This interplay creates a dynamic musical arc, culminating in a fast-paced Presto finale that brings the work to a
brilliant close.

Met 'Dance of the Winds' presenteert Hermann Pallhuber een kleurrijk en levendig werk voor harmonieorkest. Het
stuk werd gecomponeerd in opdracht van de Blasmusikverband Baden-Württemberg e.V. als verplicht werk voor de
concertwedstrijden 2025 en legt de nadruk op de mogelijkheden van blaasinstrumenten.
De muziek ontvouwt zich als een veelzijdige dans met verschillende karakters en klankwerelden. De vorm benadert
een rondo, waarbij herkenbare ritornellen worden afgewisseld met contrasterende, vaak lyrische en kamermuzikale
passages.
Deze afwisseling leidt tot een energieke spanningsboog die uitmondt in een snel Presto-finale.
