"It's Only a Paper Moon" was written in 1933 for the Broadway musical "The Great Magoo". The musical was never a success, but this song is today one of the greatest jazz standard of all times.
Paul Whiteman did the first successful recording with vocalist Peggy Healey the same year. After that it has been performed and recorded by legends as Ella Fitzgerald, oscar Peterson, Count Basie, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole to name just a few.

[NO]"It's Only a Paper Moon" ble skrevet i 1933 til Broadway-musikalen "The Great Magoo" som aldri ble noen stor suksess. Imidlertid gjorde Paul Whiteman en meget vellykket innspilling senere samme år med vokalisten Peggy Healey.
I ettertid har låten blitt en av de virkelig store "standard-låtene" og innspilt en rekke ganger både vokalt og instrumental av artister som Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Count Basie, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole og mange flere.
