Nessun dorma is the famous aria sung by Prince Calaf at the beginning of Act 3 of the opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. The opera premiered on April 25, 1926, at La Scala in Milan under the direction of Arturo Toscanini. In the story, the prince solves Princess Turandot's riddles and challenges her to discover his name by dawn; otherwise, she must marry him. The aria expresses Calaf's confidence and determination that his secret will remain undiscovered.
