Georges Bizet (Paris, 1832 1875) ist nicht nur wegen seiner Oper Carmen' und seiner Bühnenmusik für L'Arlésienne' berühmt geworden. Seine Oper in drei Akten Die Perlenfischer' (Text von Eugène Cormon und Michel Carré) wurde 1863 in Paris ohne großen Erfolg uraufgeführt. Dieses exotische musikalische Drama, das sich in Ceylon (im heutigen Sri Lanka) abspielt, enthält doch prächtige und reizende Melodien wie dieses Duett, das hier von Willy Hautvast für zwei Posaunen arrangiert worden ist.

The French composer Georges Bizet (Paris, 1838 1875) is not only famous because of his opera 'Carmen' and his stage music for 'L'Arlésienne'. His opera in three acts, 'Les Pêcheurs de Perles' (The Pearl Fishers) based on a libretto by Cormon and Carré was premiered without real success in Paris in 1863. Yet, this exotic musical drama, set in Ceylon (the actual Sri Lanka), boasts some very beautiful tunes, such as this duet, here in an arrangement by Willy Hautvast for two trombones and wind band.

Ainsi, son opéra « Les Pêcheurs de Perles », d'après un livret de Cormon et Carré, a été créé sans trop de succès à Paris en 1863. Ce drame musical exotique, situé au Ceylan, comprend néanmoins de magnifiques mélodies, telle le splendide duo que Willy Hautvast a arrangé pour deux trombones et orchestre d'harmonie.

Zijn opera in drie bedrijven 'Les Pêcheurs de Perles' naar een libretto van Cormon en Carré ging in 1863 in première in Parijs zonderal te veel succes. Dit exotisch muzikale drama, dat zich in Ceylon afspeelt, bevat nochtans prachtige melodieën, zoals dit duet dat hier door Willy Hautvast in een versie voor twee trombones bewerkt werd.
