The Show Must Go On is het laatste nummer van het album Innuendo uit 1991 van de Engelse rockgroep Queen. Het is één van hun weinige hits dei indertijd een hogere positie op de hitlijsten had in de VS (#2) dan in GB (#16). Oorspronkelijk werd gedacht dat dit lied een vertaling van de gemoedstoestand van Freddie Mercury was voor zijn dood, maar in feite komt deze droevige en indringende tekst uit de pen van Brian May. Het eindresultaat komt voort uit de samenwerking van alle bandleden.

The Show Must Go On is a song of the English rock band Queen, final track on the album Innuendo in 1991. It is one of the few hits of Queen that reached at the time a higher position in the US (# 2) than in the UK (# 16). Initially it was thought that this song was a testament of Freddie Mercury, speaking of his state of mind before he died, but this sad and poignant poetry was born from the pen of Brian May. At the end it is still the result of the collaboration of all group members.

The Show Must Go On est le dernier numéro de l’album Innuendo de 1991 du groupe anglais Queen. C’est l’un de leur rares tubes à atteindre un placement supérieur aux Etats-Unis (#2) qu’en Angleterre (#16). Au début on pensait que la chanson était une interprétation de l’état d’esprit de Freddie Mercury avant sa mort, mais en réalité ce texte triste et poignant est écrit par Brian May, alors que le résultat final vient de la collaboration de tous les membres de Queen.

Ursprünglich glaubte man, dass dieses Lied den Gemütszustand von Freddie Mercury kurz vor seinem Tod beschreibt, aber der traurige und eindringliche Text stammt aus der Feder von Gitarrist Brian May. Die Musik ist das Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit aller vier Queen-Musiker.
