Here is a splendid composition by Feike van Tuinen commissioned by the municipality Het Bildt' on the occasion of its 500th anniversary in 2005. The score describes the history of the place situated in a nice area near to the Waddenzee, a sea bordering the Northern part of The Netherlands. It starts with the very first reclamation in 1505, and then comes the hard labour of the workers in the mud, the joy of winning new land on the sea, the continuous struggle or game between the wind and the water, and finally the festivities in 2005. This composition challenges both the conductor and the musicians to bring this score to life.

Voici une très belle composition de Feike van Tuinen, composée à la demande de la commune « Het Bildt » à l'occasion de son 500ème anniversaire en 2005. La partition évoque l'histoire de cette commune, située à la mer Wadden' en Frise au Nord des Pays-Bas. Nous suivons l'histoire dès le premier endiguement en 1505 (reclamation), en passant par le dur labeur dans la boue, la joie de conquérir de la terre sur la mer, l'incessant combat ou libre cours entre le vent et l'eau pour terminer avec les festivités en 2005. Pour le chef d'orchestre et les musiciens c'est un véritable défi de rendre vie à cette partition.

Een prachtig werk van Feike van Tuinen, gecomponeerd in opdracht van Gemeente Het Bildt' t.g.v. het 500-jarig bestaan in 2005. De partituur schetst de geschiedenis van deze gemeente, fraai gelegen aan de Waddenzee in Noord Nederland. Vanaf de eerste inpoldering in 1505 (reclamation), het zwoegen van de slikwerker, de vreugde van nieuw land, de voortdurende strijd of het vrije spel tussen wind en water, eindigend in het feest in 2005. Een uitdaging voor dirigent en muzikant om deze partituur tot leven te brengen.
