Candles in Advent is a beautiful melody with great lyrics. It was originally written for an Norwegian Advent TV-series in 1985.

In this arrangement, the flugelhorn has some solo lines. I Have tried to vary the instrumentation without going beyond the beautiful Christmas mood.
The harmonization is simple and functional. Let the soloists speak with good phrasing and focus also on harmony in the unison melody lines. Good balance and intonation in the accompaniment can make the performance a little gem on the Christmas concert.

[NO]«Tenn Lys» er en nydelig melodi, med en flott tekst. Den ble i sin tid brukt i den populære TV-serien Portveien 2, og er bl.a. spilt inn med Eli Rygg og Terje Strømdahl.

Jeg har i dette arrangementet lagt noen sololinjer i flygelhorn, og har prøvd å variere instrumentasjonen uten å komme i veien for en nydelig julestemning. Harmoniseringen er enkel og funksjonabel. La solistene få snakke' med god frasering og jobb gjerne med samklangen i de unisone melodilinjene. God balanse og intonasjon i komp-elementene kan gjøre fremførelsen til en liten perle på julekonserten.
