This piece was commissioned by Kunstfactor in the Netherlands, as part of the Swinds Project. (Swing for Winds). The work is contains several well-known musical styles similar to those found in well-known musicals. After a sparkling overture comes a cheerful Hollywood/Entertainment style allegro. This is followed by a quiet, romantic pop ballad. A Musical Fantasy concludes with a swinging, jazzy finale. Besides the normal wind band orchestration, a Piano, Bass Guitar and Drum set have been added. In the Score and Parts you can find some Side Skills: These warm ups are very helpful for learning the composition.

'A Musical Fantasy' a été écrite en 2010 à la commande du 'Kunstfactor', dans le cadre du 'Swinds Project' ( Swing for Winds). Dans cette composition on entend plusieurs styles de musiques qui apparaissent souvent dans les comédies musicales bien connues. L'ouverture pétillante est suivie d'un allegro joyeux qui fait penser au style 'Hollywood/Entertainment'. La partie centrale consiste en une ballade pop tranquille. La finale donne un clin d'oeuil au Jazz, avec baucoup de swing. À côté de l'instrumentation régulière de vents, un trio de piano, basse et batterie a été ajouté. En plus sont inclus dans la partiture des 'Side Skills', excercices qui peuvent être utilisés comme 'warming up' pour travailler cette composition.

'A Musical Fantasy' werd in 2010 gecomponeerd in opdracht van Kunsfactor in het kader van het 'Swinds Project' (Swing for Winds). In deze compositie komen verschillende muziekstijlen aan bod zoals die vaak voorbij komen in de bekende musicals. Na een sprankelende ouverture volgt een vrolijk allegro dat doet denken aan de bekende 'Hollywood/Entertainment'stijl. Daarna volgt het rustige middendeel: een romantische popballad. Vervolgens besluit de compositie swingend, met een knipoog naar de jazz muziek. Naast de reguliere harmonie bezetting zijn piano, basgitaar en drums toegevoegd. Verder zijn er zogenaamde 'Side Skills' opgenomen in de partituur en partijen: Deze oefeningen kunnen als 'Warming Up' gebruikt worden voor het instuderen van de compositie.
