De populaire excentriek Britse zanger, pianist en componist Elton John (1947) bereikte de hitlijsten met o.m. 'Crocodile Rock' en 'Candle in the Wind'. Het was een geniaal idee van de Walt Disney Studios om hem (in samenwerking met Hans Zimmer) de muziek te laten schrijven voor de nieuwe super langspeeltekenfilm 'The Lion King' (Juni 1994) die qua succes zelfs 'Aladdin' en 'Beauty and the Beast' ver achter zich liet. De generiek (aftiteling) bevat meer dan zeshonderd namen van medewerkers! De lotgevallen van Koning Muphasa en kroonprins Simba worden geïllustreerd met Elton Johns liederen 'Circle of Life', 'I just can't wait to be King' en 'Can you feel the Love'. Hans van der Heide tekent dit leuk en zeer welluidend arrangement.

The popular and excentric British singer, pianist and composer Elton John (1947) reached the international hitparades with such songs as 'Crocodile Rock' and 'Candle in the Wind'. It was a stroke of genius of the Walt Disney Studios to invite him to write the soundtrack for their latest full length cartoon 'The Lion King' (June 1994). Its success rapidly surpassed that of 'Aladdin' and even that of 'Beauty and the Beast'. Its credit titles mention over 600 names! The adventures of King Muphasa and Crown Prince Simba are wonderfully backed by Elton John's songs 'Circle of Life', 'I just can't wait to be King' and 'Can you feel the Love'. Hans van der Heide signed this extremely well sounding wind band arrangement.
