A summer's eve / Sommeraften

A summer's eve / Sommeraften Edvard Grieg / Arr. John Brakstad

From the famous Lyric Pieces for piano John Brakstad has made a beautiful arrangement of this piece; ending the op. 71, written in 1901. A summer's Eve is a very romantic piece describing the beauty of the nature. It is also possible to grasp some style changes in Griegs composing that will develop into his composing style in later pieces.

The arrangement is made for a fully instrumented Concert Band, but there is written in doublings as que-notes in many parts so even quite small ensembles can make it sound right.

The difficulty is graded to 2,5 caused by a few short modulations.
