Probably no other Kliment composition has become the common property of Austrian bands quite like this one has - the Festmusik by the Lower Austrian Hans Weber, who started composing for Kliment around 1938 and was especially productive during the years of reconstruction following 1945. He also created quality arrangements of traditional old Austrian pieces, particularly of military marches. During the monarchy's final years, Weber had been a military musician in the town of Krems, and the interwar period saw him leading the band in Vienna's Stammersdorf suburb.
His Festmusik, by the way, was commissioned by the publisher Hans Kliment, of whom Weber had by that time become a personal friend.
