Der italienische Komponist Davide Delle Cese, geboren in Pontecorvo (Frosinone), war Dirigent von Blasorcherstern in Venedig, San Leo und Bitonto. 1897 schrieb er diesen Marsch (Die kleine Englische) den er einem anonymen englischen Mädchen widmete. Der Marsch wurde sehr populär, besonders in den Verei-nigten Staaten. Dieser typische italienische Konzertmarsch wird noch immer viel im Süden Europas gespielt und er klingt sehr munter und melodisch, trotz einiger dramatischen Stellen.

Davide Delle Cese, an Italian composer born in Pontecorvo (Frosinone), was band conductor in Venice, San Leo and Bitonto. In 1897 he wrote this march dedicated to an anonymous little English girl, who had a big success also in the USA. It is a typical Italian concert march, played very often in the south, very fresh and cantabile', with dramatical moments.

Le compositeur Davide Delle Cese, né à Pontecorvo (Frosinone) fut chef d'orchestres d'harmonies à Venise, San Leo et Bitonto. C'est en 1897 qu'il écrit cette marche intitulée « La petite Anglaise » dédiée à une fillette anglaise anonyme. La marche connaît immédiatement un très grand succès, surtout aux Etats-Unis. Cette marche de concert typique italienne est toujours très populaire en Europe méridionale et elle a un caractère de fraîcheur et de lyrisme, malgré quelques passages dramatiques.

In 1897 schreef hij deze mars Het Kleine Engelse Meisje' opgedragen aan een anoniem Engels meisje; het stuk kende een enorm succes in de Verenigde Staten. Deze typische Italiaanse concertmars wordt nog vaak in Zuid Europa gespeeld en ze klinkt bijzonder fris en zangerig, ondanks enkele dramatische passages.
