Unending Stream of Life is a set of seven songs for wind ensemble, each embodying the original tune, or relating to it in some way. The Overture borrows Vaughan Williams' harmonization of this grand old melody, and this is paralleled with my own harmonization at the end of the piece. Elements of light and dark intertwine in this music which is written at the level of a good high school band. Yet another gem. We are so excited about performing it. It's all great and beautifully put together but I have to say I'm not sure there is anything in the wind repertoire more beautiful than the 6th movement. As you progress through each movement there is a sameness with the melodic fragments or whole statements at times, yet they have their own unique flavor.
