Allegheny Portrait

Allegheny Portrait Claude T. Smith

was commissioned for the PMEA Distrinct 5 Band Festival, John Manhollan, host, in memory of Raymond C. Schweinberg (1937-1984). The premiere performance was February 15, 1986 at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Distrinct 5 Band Concert with Claude T. Smith conducting. The original title was Allegheny Winds. This work is in overture style and features a clarinet solo in the opening section. This is a strong selection with reasonable technical demands.
