This volume contains a selection of piano works with children's pieces and sonatas of intermediate difficulty. Reinecke's style, which is relatively conservative, is shaped by role models from the first Viennese school, such as Haydn and Mozart. Among his students were Max Bruch, Edvard Grieg and Leo Janá?ek. Despite his successes as a pianist, composer and educator, Carl Reinecke has met the fate of many great musicians and is now largely forgotten. This collection hopes to change that by presenting a cross-section of his piano music.

Le présent volume contient une sélection d'uvres pour piano, avec des pièces pour enfants et des sonates modérément difficiles. Le style de Reinecke, qui d'un point de vue esthétique se classe dans le conservatisme, s'inspire des modèles classiques viennois, comme Haydn et Mozart. Parmi ses élèves, on compte Max Bruch, Edvard Grieg et Leo Janá?ek. Malgré ses succès en tant que pianiste, compositeur et pédagogue, Carl Reinecke a subi le destin de nombreux grands musiciens et est aujourd'hui en grande partie tombé dans l'oubli. Afin de changer cela, ce volume a pour objectif de présenter un échantillon significatif des compositions pour piano d'un grand romantique allemand.
