Tortoises from The Carnival of the Animals is a brand new arrangement of this movement from the orchestral suite by Camille Saint-Säens.
The slow and goofy turtle is given a hip-hop groove to speed up a bit but also face some competiton by a fast rabbit, presented by the woodwind-section.

This arrangement let the low brass play a slow, and veiled melody which are going to played a bit slower compared to the accompaniment.
For the daredevil conductor, this piece can be a kind of a schizophrenic exercise where one have to conduct the melody one and a half beat behind the accompaniment and rhythm group.

[NO]Skilpadder er et nytt arrangement av denne satsen fra Dyrenes Karneval av Camille Saint-Säens. Den trege og klønete skilpadden til Saint-Säens har fått et hip-hopgroove å støtte seg på samt fått litt konkurranse av en rask hare representert av treblås-gruppen. Dette arrangementet lar grovmessingen spille en treg og tilslørt melodipresentasjon som skal spilles litt for sent i forhold til de akkompagnerende stemmene.

For den vågale dirigenten bør dette sees som en rytmisk schizofreni-øvelse hvor man må dirigere melodipresentasjonen et halvt til ett og et halvt (1,5) slag bak rytmegruppen og de akkompagnerende stemmene.

Når stykket fremføres må man gjerne bruke lignelsen mellom skilpadden og haren mot henholdsvis grovmessingen og treblåsen.
